Manchester, CT - May 24, 2011 - Scan-Optics, LLC, a leader in applying high-speed imaging, recognition, data capture and archive and retrieval solutions, today announced that Mr. Thomas Rice has joined the company as Chief Executive Officer.
Prior to joining Scan-Optics, Mr. Rice held senior level positions most recently with Thomson Reuters Healthcare where he was the EVP, General Manager for Physicians' Desk Reference. He went to PDR to reposition the company from a print centric to an information centric focus and successfully accomplished his objectives in less than 18 months.
Previously, Mr. Rice served in various high-ranking positions at Reader's Digest and PRIMEDIA.
Commenting on his recent appointment, Mr. Rice stated, "Scan-Optics has a wealth of technology that can be leveraged into both solutions and business services for its customers. I believe that Scan-Optics has great potential and I look forward to leading the company over the coming years."
