Scan-Optics Names Director of Quality
Penny Riordan Brings Six Sigma Black Belt Expertise

Manchester, CT – May 8, 2008 - Penny Riordan has joined Scan-Optics, LLC as Director of Quality. She is charged with developing the company’s quality management system and identifying process improvement opportunities throughout the organization.

Riordan has trained more than 150 Six Sigma Green Belts and more than 100 Black Belts for SAI Global, Inc. As a senior consultant for SAI Global for the past 14 years, she has developed and implemented business management systems for clients including DaimlerChrysler, BMW North America, QuebecorWorld, Shaw Industries, Yamaha, Corning and many others. She previously held the position of quality assurance manager at Amoco Fabrics and Fibers. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

“We are extremely fortunate to have someone of Penny’s caliber and experience on board. It’s unusual for a company our size to be able to attract a Black Belt to its staff. I believe this speaks for the progress Scan-Optics is making,” said Richard Lieberfarb, Scan-Optics Chief Operating Officer.

“As we embark on several major initiatives, including ramping up our Document Processing Outsourcing operation and changing our software development process, we will be looking to Penny to take the lead in improving efficiency and enhancing the total quality of our product, both internally and externally,” added Lieberfarb.
